Hazel is a college graduate with a diploma in community service work. She is also a certified WRAP facilitator (Wellness Recovery Action Plan). She has facilitated multiple young adult WRAP groups, along with groups such as an adaptive creative writing group during her placement. She is passionate about assisting people in finding a sense of belonging and community. She strongly believes that everyone knows themselves best and that no situation is hopeless. To her, the word "hopeless" means less hope, not no hope. She believes that there is always hope in any given situation in life. As a survivor of many forms of violence. She understands the value of fostering a respectful, empathetic, and supportive environment. She is a firm believer in creating a safe, non-judgmental place where everyone can be their true selves and live their truth. She is a person with lived experience that deals with PTSD,OCD, ED and ADHD. She understands how difficult it can be to get through day-to-day activities, but she believes in everyone's strength and abilities to find what strategies help them best. She loves hiking, being in nature, anything artsy, listening to documentaries, and creative writing. Writing has been a big part of her healing journey, and even with dyslexia, she has found solace and a love for writing and journaling. She believes that there are multiple ways of approaching creativity and writing. She is currently in the process of writing her book. She is a compassionate, caring, and empathetic person who believes everyone is capable of living a wonderful life. She believe that everyone belongs, matters, and deserves support and community
