Family Members of Addicts Virtual Peer Support Group
Welcome

Leanee runs this group every other Wednesday at 8pm ET

This support group is designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for families affected by addiction. Participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences, struggles, and triumphs while connecting with others who understand the challenges they face. The group will focus on fostering open communication, developing coping strategies, and enhancing emotional resilience. Led by a trained counselor, sessions will include discussions, educational resources, and therapeutic activities aimed at promoting healing and understanding within the family unit. Together, families will learn to navigate the complexities of addiction and build a supportive community, empowering them to support their loved ones while taking care of their own well-being.

Leanee is a counseling intern who lives in Summerville, South Carolina. She has nearly completed her Master's degree through Walden University. She has anxiety, has experienced Post Partum Anxiety/Depression, and has been a supportive family member to multiple addicts in her family.

With Leanee as your counselor, she wants to walk with you on your journey to discover your goals, what the relationships in your life mean to you, and how they mesh within your worldview to grow as an individual. Working together to develop you into the person you were meant to be through a humanistic approach that meshes DBT and attachment theory. In her downtown she loves to run, play Nintendo Switch with her family, and is an avid reader. A quote she loves is, “Be your favorite version of you.”
